🏖️ First Impressions

San Juan Del Sur instantly felt like a hidden gem — colorful, welcoming, and peaceful. It's the kind of place that feels like a secret beach paradise. From hiking up to Christ for those panoramic views, to sipping cold beer with ceviche right on the beach — it’s a place I’ll never forget. Whether you're flying standby, using points, or backpacking on a budget, this is a must-see spot in Nicaragua.

I stayed at Villas Del Palermo Hotel & Resort, a cozy mountainside villa with the most spectacular view, and booked through Booking.com. It is safe, clean, and perfect for budget travelers.

El Timón Restaurant

Situated right on the beach, El Timón is a renowned eatery serving traditional Nicaraguan seafood dishes. With its nautical-themed decor and live cultural performances on select nights, it offers a memorable dining experience. Don't miss their fresh ceviche and whole fried fish, best enjoyed with a cold local beer.

🍽️ Bar Restaurant Josseline

One of the best lunches I had in San Juan del Sur. The seafood was fresh, the prices were great, and the portions generous. It’s less touristy and more of a local gem — exactly the kind of place I look for when I travel.

La Tostaderia

Hands down, one of the best coffees I’ve ever had .... so good I went every morning. The place has a cozy, artistic feel with incredible baristas. Their breakfast options are also delicious, especially if you’re into strong Nicaraguan coffee paired with a fresh pastry or hearty toast. A must-visit for coffee lovers.
